Your own customers on a client's route

Last updated on Oct 20, 2026

A subcontractor often drives a route for a client and has customers of its own in the same streets. It can put those addresses on the same route and send them out on the same dispatch, so one driver does the whole round in one go. The client never sees the subcontractor's own customers. The rule is: each company sees only the addresses it has permission to.

Who sees what

  • The subcontractor sees the whole route and the whole dispatch: the client's addresses and its own, exactly as before.
  • The client sees only its own addresses. The subcontractor's addresses are left out everywhere: the stop list, the maps, drawings, street history, the insurance report, the dispatch lists with their search, filters and counts, the dispatch details, the address history and the supplier monthly export. There is no placeholder or "hidden address" row; the dispatch simply reads as the client's part of it.
  • A company further up the chain (the client's own client) sees the addresses that are its own, by the same rule. See owner, subcontractor, sub-subcontractor.

Being the company that sent the dispatch out gives no extra view on its own. What counts is whose addresses they are.

The driver on the client's map

The subcontractor's driver is shown to the client only around the client's own addresses.

  • At the client's addresses the client sees the driver, the trail and the check-in and check-out times as usual.
  • Between two of the client's addresses the trail is shown when the driver went straight from one to the other.
  • When the driver stopped at one of the subcontractor's own addresses on the way, that part of the trail is drawn as a faint dashed line marked Not shared, with the times it covers. Hovering it explains that the driver was at an address belonging to another company.
  • Before the client's first address the drive is not shown.
  • While the driver still has the subcontractor's own addresses open, the client's Live map shows where the driver was last seen, with the time, instead of the live position.

The same applies to the replay of an earlier day. A company's own drivers are never filtered for that company.

What does not change

  • The driver app works as before. The driver sees the whole round and records every address the usual way.
  • Prices and invoices stay between the two companies that agreed them, as on any other dispatch. See who sees a dispatch.
