A route's drivers are one timeless list: the same people on every dispatch, all season. Working hours is the dated version of that answer. You put a driver on a route for a period, and every dispatch of the route planned inside that period takes that driver instead.
Where it is
Routes in the sidebar is now a group. Routes opens the list as before; Working hours opens the calendar for every route you can see. The same calendar sits on the Schedule tab of a route's slider, showing that one route only. Anyone who can view routes can open it; adding or editing periods takes the same rights as editing the route's drivers.
The calendar
A month at a time, with Today to come back. Each period is a bar from its first day to its last. On the all-routes page the bars take the route's colour and the sidebar lists Routes and Drivers as filters, with Select all and Clear all; on a route's own Schedule tab the bar carries the driver's avatar instead. When more people are on one day than fit, the day ends with +N more. Drag across days to start a new period on those dates.
Add working hours
- Press Add working hours, or drag across the days.
- Pick the Route (on the all-routes page) and the Drivers. Only routes your business can crew are offered, and only people with the driver role. A driver who has since lost the role shows No longer a driver on old periods.
- Set From and To dates. Start Time and End Time are the shift window on those days; the bar shows the hours on the ends it starts and finishes on. On a one-day period the end time has to be after the start time.
- Save: The working hours were saved.
The same driver cannot be on the same route twice in overlapping periods: {Name} is already scheduled on this route in that period. Two different drivers overlapping is fine; that is a crew. Delete removes a period after Remove this period from the schedule?
What it changes on a dispatch
When you create a dispatch for a route, the crew panel is pre-filled from the schedule for the planned date and marked Scheduled (Pre-selected from the schedule for the planned date). Change the planned date and the panel re-seeds unless you already edited it. The order is always:
- The drivers you pick in the dispatch popup, when you pick any.
- Whoever the schedule puts on the route for the planned date.
- The route's standing drivers, only when no period covers that date.
Days are compared in your business's own calendar, so a period that ends today still covers a dispatch planned for tonight. A scheduled stand-in sees the route in the app while their period covers today, exactly like a standing driver.
Deleting a route removes its schedule with it. Duplicating a route copies the drivers but not the schedule; plan the copy afresh. To record the hours people actually worked rather than the plan, use shifts.
